Random Midnight-Thoughts about how society changed a lot but actually didn't at all
lavender lacrimosa shalott, 03:15h
So for today I chose a topic wich was wobbling around in my head for quite some time now: the changes of society in the past centuries.
The first thing I'm gonna talk about came to my head when I heard people talking about romans and people in the middle-ages and how barbaric they were because of how they made fun of people suffering or getting killed. But if you actually think about it, people still do. There is actually not such a big difference between watching lions eating christins in the collosseum and watching shows like "Jackass" or even just action movies or war movies. I know, a lot of people will say now "But that's not real, it's only movies!" ...but let's be honest, does this actually matter? Yes, we know that the things that happen in the movies are not real, it's just acting. Still we know, many of the things happening in war and action movies could happen or did already happen in real life. And, acted or not, fact is, people enjoy seeing people die or suffer, even though it's only movies. By this I don't mean to make action and war movies seeming negative, I also enjoy a good action movie every once in a while. My point is, we shouldn't be this fast to judge the generations before us, because in a lot of things we aren't any better.
Another thing I recently realized is about the structure of society and social classes under influence of a wake government. A weak government is normally insecure about staiyng in the position of having power over the people. Their biggest fear is that people would start protesting against them and making others realize, how weak they actually are. So they just do the following: they use media, religion and some peoples stupidity to exclude minoritys (most likely women, homosexuals, foreigners and people with other religions) from society to give the less educated someone they can concentrate their hate on. At the same time they use the same things (media, religion, etc) to make other minoritys (mostly priests, politicians and rich people living in the country) seem superior to normal people. So we can say if in a country prietsts, politicians and a small amount of rich people have high influence on the broad mass and at the same time women, homosexuals, etc are looked down on, the country has a weak government that actually wants to conceal its inability to reign properly. Ironically, this government is pretty strong at the same time, because this system is already established for a rather long time. The only way of braking out of this circle would be getting some education, but as the weak government wants to keep the people even weaker, they don't make education available for the broad mass. Which is a pretty sad thing, because it makes a lot of actually intelligent people waste their talents for the selfishness of a government that wants to remain strong, whatever it takes.
I hope you enjoyed reading these things that were running around on my mind and that it could maybe help you to see the world from another point of view. I would love to hear what you think about my ideas because I'm sure that not everyone will share my opinions, I would quite like to hear that as well, because I never actually discussed these topics with anyone yet.
I hope you have (or had) a nice day
